On March 26, 2018 the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology hosted The Republican Olympiad on German languages among 1-year and 2-year students of non-linguistic specialties in higher education institutions of Kazakhstan.
Students from different regions of Kazakhstan came to demonstrate the knowledge of the language of the great Goethe, the language of many world-famous philosophers, physicists, mathematicians, writers, chemists, musicians and composers, a language that is official not only in Germany, but also in Austria, Switzerland and the state of Liechtenstein.
The students of our university competed with the students of the North Kazakhstan State University named after M. Kozybayev (Petropavlovsk), the South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University (Shymkent), State Pedagogical University (Pavlodar). The students from Eurasian Humanitarian Institute and "Turan-Astana" University also participated in the Olympiad.
The Republican Olympiad was dedicated to the theme "The Twentieth Anniversary of Astana". In the third round, the students prepared presentations, where they demonstrated both good language skills and skills to work with informational modern programs, moreover, also knowledge of the history of the capital of our Motherland.
The jury consisted of the representative of the German Embassy in Kazakhstan, Isabella Wörmbter and Ph.D., associate professor of the Department of Foreign Philology Zhumanbekova Nurkesh Zeynullovna.
The first place in the Olympiad was awarded to the first-year student of our university, majoring in "Design" Zhakupova Asel, whose mentor is the master, the senior teacher of the German language, Department of foreign Languages, Faculty of Philology Arystankulova Gulmira Ualikhanovna. Temirbayev Nurislam, the student of the specialty "Transport, transport equipment and telecommunication" was awarded the second place, the master of the German language is the senior teacher Nurbekova Gulizat Zhaksylykovna. The third place was awarded to the first-year student of the specialty "Radio engineering, electronics and telecommunications" Niyazymbek Zhanat, a mentor, a teacher of German language Ph.D., acting. Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages of the Faculty of Philology Ustelimova Natalia Anatolyevna.
