In the Eurasian National University. L.N. Gumilyov hosted the International scientific and theoretical conference «Spiritual Renaissance and Problems of Linguistics» dedicated to the 80th anniversary of academician of NAS of RK , Doctor of Philology, Professor M.Sergaliyev.
The conference is organized under the chairmanship of the rector of the Eurasian National University. L.N. Gumilyov E.B. Sydykov, vice-rector for scientific research G.Merzadanova, vice-rector for social and cultural development D. Kamzabekuly, dean of the philological faculty S. Zharkynbekova, head of the department of Kazakh linguistics A.Beysenbay and professors-teachers of the department of Kazakh linguistics.
The main purpose of the conference is to promote of the Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev to the people of 2018 and to propagandize the scientific works of Academician NAS of the RK, Doctor of Philology, Professor M.S.Sergaliev and problems of linguistics.
The main directions of the conference:
- Message of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.Nazarbayev to the people of 2018 "New opportunities for development in the conditions of the fourth industrial revolution" and the objectives of linguistics;
- The role of language and literature in spiritual modernization;
- The role of philology in the implementation of the state program "Digital Kazakhstan";
- Achievements of traditional linguistics and new paradigms of linguistics in the 21st century;
- Achievements of traditional literary studies and new paradigms of literary studies in the 21st century.
Academician of the National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Philology, professor, famous linguist, literary critic and publicist M.Sergaliyev became the best teacher of the university, Honorary Education Officer of the Republic of Kazakhstan, holder of the Veteran of Labor medal, state scholarship for outstanding contribution to the development of science and technology of Kazakhstan. Myrzatay Sergaliev is a pedagogue-scientist who trained dozens of candidates, doctors of science. Academician M.Sergaliyev in 1999, at the invitation of the rector of the ENU, headed the Department of Kazakh Linguistics of the Eurasian National University. L.N. Gumilyov. During this time, on his initiative, departments of post-graduate and magistracy departments were opened in the department, since 2000 a dissertation council has been working at the university.

At the conference, more than 100 articles were received from the leading universities of the country and abroad. The papers were read and discussed in 6 sections of sectional works.
