On December 2, 2022, leading specialists of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics, Ph.D., Associate Professor Zh.A. Jambayeva and Ph.D., Associate Professor A.B. Nurgazina conducted a professorial lesson for students of the 10th "B" class of Gymnasium No. 30.
The project "Professorial Lesson" was initiated by the Methodological Center of the Akimat of Astana, whose mission is to form a community of highly professional teachers of the country. Within the framework of the mission, the goal is to develop and improve the interaction of the country's leading universities with schools, providing methodological assistance to teachers and schoolchildren.
The topic of the professor's lesson is "The speaker as a kind of linguistic personality. The peculiarities of his speech" aroused the genuine interest of students, since in the modern world it is important to develop oratory, the ability to conduct a dialogue, to speak beautifully, correctly and to the point. The students learned about rhetoric as a science, about its history, about the types and principles of rhetoric, about the basic rules and how to prepare for a speech.
The most interesting moment of the lesson was the performance of tasks, where the students of the 10th "B" class were divided into five groups and had the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in practice. It was gratifying to see how talented, creative, active and intelligent the younger youth are. The guys took a very responsible and creative approach to completing tasks.
The leading specialist of the Methodological Center of the Akimat of Astana, the head of the project "Professorial lesson" N.K. Azimbay, Deputy director for specialized training of SHG No. 30 S.Zh. Arystanova, the head of the school MO O.A. Nemerovchenko, teachers of Russian language and literature, who attended the lesson, noted the high methodological level of the lesson, thanked our colleagues for responsiveness, responsibility, professionalism and skill.
The event was covered by the press center of the Akimat of Astana. The professor's lesson was filmed on video, in an interview with journalists, the teachers and students shared their impressions of the lesson.
The Department of Theoretical and Applied Linguistics intends to continue to support such events for the implementation of the Work Plan of the branch in SHG No. 30.
