A soldier who went through the Second World War, a genius poet, a wonderful playwright, a sparkling satirist, a talented journalist, a gifted translator, and just a noble and independent person - all these epithets refer to one man - Kasym Amanzholov - the great Kazakh poet and philosopher. The desire to study in detail the life and work of K. Amanzholov led us to Uralsk, which became a second home for the poet. The city greeted us with its old age, which began literally from the wooden airport building.
As you know, when organizing such trips, people who are knowledgeable in this matter always come to the rescue. And, of course, our scientific expedition would not have been so successful if not for the active support of the famous journalist, poet, member of the Writers' Union of the Republic of Kazakhstan Amangeldy Shahin, and honored cultural worker Sara Kushulikyzy Kenzhebaeva. First of all, the road led us to the regional archive of Uralsk, where the researcher of the Kazakh language and literature Marat Azbanbaev spent many hours. The multifaceted image of Kasym Amanzholov was clearly manifested from old archival references, newspaper clippings. This is not only a poet but also the creator of the Kazakh studio theater, a progressive journalist, a citizen of an active life position. In Uralsk in 1935 he wrote the lines demonstrating his indifference to the life around him: "Why was I born a human being, why did I follow the path of society, why did I try so hard from a young age?" («Өмірге пенде болып неге тудым, Не себепті қоғамның жолын қудым, Балапандай талпынып жас кезімнен Неге сонша серт беріп белді будым?»)
He lived in Uralsk only for 5 years, but it was this city that played a decisive role in his formation as a poet and a citizen.
This was also discussed at a meeting in the regional library of Uralsk, and at a program organized by the regional TV and radio company, and at the Center for Culture and Art named after Kadyr Myrza Ali, and at the M. Utemisov West Kazakhstan State University.
Once the poet wrote the following words in the poem "About myself", which has now become a folk song: "A new Kasym will appear in the world, He will turn to my songs more than once, When they thunder, it is like a storm, - Who will say that I died, old Kasym?" («Дүниеге келер әлі талай Қасым, Олар да бұл Қасымды бір байқасын. Өртке тиген дауылдай өлеңімді Қасымның өзі емес деп кім айтарсың!») The poet turned out to be a predictor - in his Literary homeland in Uralsk there are no people indifferent to his poetry, to the writing of the Poet of the Cosmos, as Zh. Nazhimedenov named him.
