Open Lecture by a Visiting Professor from Bulgaria on DIGITALIZING EDUCATION

On November 25, 2020, at the Faculty of Philology, hosted an open lecture by a visiting professor – PhD, Dean of the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology of the Kliment Ohridsky Sofia University (Bulgaria), Professor of Foreign Literature and Modern Methods of Foreign Language Teaching ​​Madeleine Danova on one of the most pressing topics of today – DIGITALIZING EDUCATION.

 

Madeleine Danova is a visiting professor of the Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department ​​of the Philological Faculty and is reading the current semester of the 2020-2021 academic year lectures on “Innovative Methods of Foreign Language Teaching” and “Formation of a Multicultural Linguistic Personality” for 2nd year graduate students of the education program “7М01719 – Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages” online on the Microsoft Teams platform.

 

Digitalization of education is one of the most popular and topical research topics not only in Bulgaria, but also in Kazakhstan. We see today a digital divide in society, created by the quarantine conditions of teaching and learning; the concepts of “digital socialization”, “digital citizenship” are discussed on many scientific platforms. The modern system of higher education is undergoing various stages and forms of digitalization, as the foreign professor announced in her lecture.

 

The lecture was held in English on 25 November, 2020 at 5 p.m. with the participation of the faculty members and students of the Faculty of Philology, the Faculty of International Relations and the Faculty of Information Technologies.
