Scientific Seminar from Visiting Professors

The Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages ​​of the Faculty of Philology pays special attention to the development of international cooperation with universities in the near and far abroad. The short-term visit of a foreign professor at the University of Gdańsk (Poland), Dr. Dorota Sylwia Majewicz, and the head of the department of English teaching methodology at Termez State University, Shoira Jabbarova, is one example of such cooperation.

Gdansk University is one of the largest state higher education institutions in Poland, founded in 1970. Located in the city of Gdansk. Currently, the largest educational institution in the Polish region of Pomerania. At 11 faculties of the university, about 33,000 students, doctoral and postgraduate students, about 1,700 teachers are studying. Studies are conducted in 26 areas in 106 specialties. Professor Dorota Sylwia Majewicz and Shoyra Dzhabbarova arrived at L.N. Gumilev ENU for the period from January 21 to 24, 2020, thanks to the invitation program of foreign professors of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, they began to give lectures for students and undergraduates of the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages ​​in the courses "The Role of Language in Promoting Climate Change Communication" and "Investigating Vocabulary: Language Changes and Updates".

On January 23, 2020, the Discourse Analysis scientific seminar will be held for the faculty of the Faculty of Philology, invited professors will also hold consultations for undergraduates of 1 year of study and students of 4 years of training in conducting and writing research papers.

The aim of the seminar is to exchange experience in teaching English in foreign and Kazakhstani universities, where foreign professors Dorota Sylwia Majewicz and Shoyra Dzhabbarova will give a presentation on those innovative methods that are widely used by Polish colleagues at Gdansk University and Uzbek colleagues at Termez State University.
