Scientific internship in a distance format: the experience of graduate students.

On December 19, 2020, 2nd year graduate students of the educational program "7М01719 - Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages" of the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages ​​spoke at the reporting conference with reports on the results of scientific internships in an unusual - distance format - in Kazakhstan and foreign universities - partners of ENU. 35 graduate students of the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages ​​underwent an online scientific internship at the Department of Foreign Languages ​​at the Eurasian Humanitarian Institute (Nur-Sultan) under the guidance of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Head of the Department of Foreign Languages, Lyudmila Vasilievna Volkova. 39 graduate students completed a scientific internship at the Gomel State University named after Francisk Skaryna (Belarus) under the guidance of the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor Sazhina Elena Vladimirovna.

 During the meeting, graduate students presented their report to scientific advisors and first year master students. They reflected their sessions about attending online lectures and seminars with leading professors of hosting universities. They also discussed their master’s research topics with professors at the seminar, online work with electronic catalogs of the partner university’s library and getting acquainted with online platforms used in EASI and GSU.

The graduate students also outlined the difficulties that they had to face during the 10-day online scientific internship: lack of personal contact, weak Internet connection, restrictions on the number of participants on various platforms, etc.

All 2nd year graduate students of the educational program "7М01719 - Foreign language: two foreign languages" have successfully completed their scientific internship, made positive comments to the host partner universities of ENU and received certificates.
