On March 16,2018 an open lesson of the senior teacher of Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages Darmenova Asylgul Yeleuovna took place in the group FL 31. The theme of the lesson "Public speaking is an art of delivering speech with confidence and conviction".
The lesson immediately began with immersion in the professional atmosphere, which was maintained throughout the lesson, and the teacher and students spoke exclusively in English!
The structure of the lesson was saturated with a variety of types of educational activities (frontal, group, individual), which replaced each other in a rhythmic order, which promoted active enthusiasm and immersion in the studied material.
The role of the teacher with the traditional authoritarian was replaced by the role of instructor, guide, tutor, who pointed out the vector of activity, voiced the time limit and evaluation criteria, placing an increasing emphasis on the student's independent work.
Practical lesson of the senior teacher Darmenova A.E. was held at a high methodical level. The teacher had a lesson plan, which was entirely devoted to presentations of students of their own projects, prepared according to certain requirements of the teacher for public speaking (organization, product knowledge, visuals, eye contact, delivery). A projector equipment was used. Students in four teams of 3 people showed prepared projects, the others listened attentively and asked questions. There was an increased interest of the group in this discipline.
The teacher analyzes the performance of each team, which resulted in the receipt of a "certificate" for the implementation of the imaginary project.
Working with projects takes a special place in the methodology, allowing students to acquire knowledge that is not achieved with traditional teaching methods, it becomes possible because students make their choice and take the initiative. The project activity is able to make the learning process for the student personally significant, in which he will be able to fully reveal his creative potential, to show his research abilities, imagination, creativity, activity, independence.
Work on the project, the presentation reveals the creative potential of the student, develops his imagination, imagination, thinking.
