An ​​International Scientific and Practical Seminar in English «INNOVATION IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHER EDUCATION».

n April 6, 2018 within the framework of the Decade of Science at the Faculty of Philology, Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU held an ​​International Scientific and Practical Seminar in English «INNOVATION IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE TEACHER EDUCATION».

The main purpose of organizing and conducting the seminar was to exchange experience of English teachers in the use of innovative and multimedia technologies and modern approaches in training future teachers and instructors.

Moderators of the seminar, Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor Sholpan Zharkynbekova and Head of the Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department, Candidate of Philological Sciences Zhanna Beisembayeva congratulated those present on the start of the Decade of Science of the Philological Faculty and the opening of the traditional annual seminar on English language teaching methods. On behalf of the university administration there was an opening speech made by the Head of the Science and Innovation Department of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU Yerik Nurmoldin.

The invited speakers with keynote addresses of the seminar were: Olga Paterova, Coordinator of the US Embassy in the Republic of Kazakhstan with her report The US Embassy Digital Resources, James Michael Nielsen, the University of Texas at El Paso, the USA, currently an English instructor at the Nazarbayev University with his report Teaching Writing Skills to Advanced English Learners, Andrei Khomutovsky, leading expert of Macmillan Publishing House with his report English for Specific Purposes, Robertus Hendricus Murrer, English instructor, Astana Astana English for Talented Children No. 81 with his report Revision in University Education Associat ed with Increasing Stress, Depression and Burn-Out Amongst Students, Teachers and Management, José Humberto Baeza Estrada, a foreign second-year master student of the Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department ​​with his report The Importance of Teaching Cultural Aspects in the ESL Classroom. Associate professors of the Foreign Languages Theory and Practice Department, candidates of pedagogical sciences Roza Zhusupova and Aigul Niyazova spoke with a report Priority Methodical Competences of the Future Teacher of Foreign Languages ​​in Conditions of Internationalization of Education.

 A book fair of the Macmillan publishing house was held in tandem with the work of the international seminary where catalogs of the latest books in English teaching and studying were presented to teachers and students of the Faculty of Philology (teachers book, work book, students book, dictionaries, teaching aids, etc.).
