Competition for Public Speakers - A Celebration of Intelligence

On April 3, 2019, at the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Language at Philological Faculty, a competition of the best public speakers was held among the 3rd-year students of the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Language at the “Students’ Club of Foreign Languages”. As a jury at the competition, native-speaker guests, Ben Tailor (USA) and Tom McGlashan  (Scotland) were invited.

Guided by the fact that the purpose of teaching English is to form and improve students’ foreign language communicative competence. The application of knowledge in practice is also one of the most important components of teaching. Students of the 3rd year had the opportunity to speak on various topics using the knowledge gained in the lessons of the discipline "Public speaking". Students believe that this competition is a good method of forming subject and personal competence.
