Distance educational technologies of the Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages

The Department of Theory and Practice of Foreign Languages ​​keeps up with world trends and long before the quarantine was announced, it began implementing distance learning using various online platforms such as Platonus, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype, Webex Meetings, Padlet, Google Classroom, Moodle, Coursera, Edmodo, Easyclass, WhatsApp, etc.

For the 2nd semester of the 2019-2020 academic year, the number of disciplines is 21 undergraduate degrees; magistracy - 4; doctoral studies - 2 and on all the above platforms, our teachers conducted their online training sessions.

 

 

Also, the following online events of the department were held:

- online meetings of the department (Minutes No. 12 of 03/12/2020; Minutes No. 13 of 04/14/2020);

- meetings of the head of the department with students;

- Protection of reports of undergraduates of the 2nd year on research practice;

- Employment meetings among 91 students and 46 undergraduates;

- preliminary protection of graduate work of students and undergraduates;

- methodical webinars in the framework of the school of pedagogical skills in conjunction with the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan (04/28/2020);

- online binary classes with foreign teachers Izrael Beyene Mogis, Kebir M.Djemal and Jose H. Baeza Estrada;

- An open online course AE Massive (MOOC) "English for science, technology, mathematics and engineering STEM";

- production meeting (04/27/2020);

- online seminars on various topics, etc.

To organize distance learning, teachers developed e-books, Padlet online platforms, and also developed a mini-project “My English Lab” by a first-year undergraduate.

April 10, 2020 on the "Day of Science" at the University of ENU named after L.N. Gumilev organized an international conference "GYLYM JANE BILIM - 2020" offline and our 164 students of the educational program "Foreign Language: Two Foreign Languages" participated in the subsection: Innovative technologies in the system of teaching foreign languages, 146 articles were published.

All conducted online events and educational processes were regularly published on the university website and on social networks Facebook, Instagram, VK.
