04.24.2020 at 17.00, the Republican online seminar entitled “Spiritual Revival and Kazakh Onomastics” was organized by the Department of Kazakh Linguistics of the Philological Faculty of the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov on the Zoom platform.
Scientists from all regions of Kazakhstan and government officials involved in this field attended and made presentations at the conference, such as professor Absadyk Almasbek Ahmetuly from Kostanay State University named after A.Baitursynuly; professor, doctor of philological sciences, leading scientific researcher of Institute of Linguistics named after A.Baitursynuly Rysbergen Kyzdarkhan Kurmashkyzy; candidate of philological sciences, docent Biyarov Berdibek Nuraldauly from EKSU named after S.Amanzholov; candidate of philological sciences, docent Alimhan Aygul Asetkyzy from EKSU named after S.Amanzholov; candidate of philological sciences, docent Altynbek Abdul’manov from West-Kazakhstan innovative-technological university; leading specialist of languages development administration and archival affair Kusainova Aizhan Orakkyzy.
Onomastics is one of the pillars of our great values, whose history goes back to antiquity. It has different directions, including scientists talking about the features of the development of toponyms and anthroponyms. Our wonderful names serve as the golden bridge connecting the past and the present, are still used today in a new quality, adapting to new requirements.
Even with the transition to the Latin alphabet, it was suggested that onomastics have many problems and solutions.
